My Belief System
I believe in pinky promises. I always have. I know its childish, but they're still real to me. I try my absolute hardest not to break them. I just don't see how you can sit there knowing that you're actively lying to someone – but still make a pinky promise. It's just wrong.
As much as it sometimes kills me to face it, I think everything does happen for a reason. Even if things are tough, it's what I come back to, because it might be a situation I don't want to be caught in, but I do believe it.
I can have countless thoughts crowding my head trying to solve the puzzle and figure out what on earth the reason might be this time, but coming back to that one phrase brings me a little bit of comfort and hope.
At the end of the day, whatever plays out is how things are meant to go.
"Everything happens for a reason" – my life motto.
I don't believe in a god. Sometimes I wish I did. I think peace would come easier then.
I believe in standing up for your values.
I don't believe in being racist. I don't understand why anyone would discriminate based purely off the pigmentation that someone's skin has.
I believe that thinking is a gift, but it can be a curse at times to think so much.
I believe that success in life is contentment, which shouldn't be confused with happiness, since lifelong happiness is an unachievable goal.
I believe that bravery doesn't mean not being scared, it means feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
I believe that chosen family can be equally as important as blood family.
I believe that life is about so much more than the big moments, but also the ones in between.
I don't believe that people should always blindly follow the rules. Sometimes rules really are made to be broken.
I believe that respect is earned.
I believe that what goes around comes back around. I believe in karma.
I believe in loving with your whole heart, even when you feel like it is not being reciprocated.
