Live Your Life
A child doesn't stress of feel forlorn. Not over anything more serious than a dropped ice-cream cone, a scraped knee, or a friend sitting somewhere other than besides them.
But is that only because of age?
I don't think so.
Your childhood wasn't magic just because you were young, it was sweet because nobody is better than living in the moment than a kid is.
That's when you're the most present. Always in awe, always curious and keen to discover the beauties of the big wide world around you.
Children have big hopes and aspirations that they don't question at all as to whether they're achievable. They believed Barbie when she said, "you can do anything". They aren't caught up in all the things that they can't control.
Instead, they spend their time being cheeky and giggling with their friends. Trying to catch butterflies and cuddling their favourite stuffed animals.
Kids are too busy being excited and wondrous about the world to be anxious or unhappy, not for extended periods of time anyway.
Yes, we have greater expectations as we grow older, but do we ever take a step back from them to simplify our life on occasion? Do we need to do it more, or is that curiosity that a child sees the world with just a part of life that slowly dwindles away as we are lead through more complicated emotions and challenging experiences?
We put so much pressure on ourselves to look or act a certain way, most of the time to try and impress people that we don't even like. And all for what? When you die and see those last seven minutes that supposedly appear, those people won't be in it.
It will be all your best memories, the ones where you laugh so hard you cry, where you act like a lunatic with your best friends, and all the happy moments with your family.
None of the things that we spend so much time worrying about end up mattering. We worry about them anyway, of course, but the best moments are often when we let ourselves go; be spontaneous and live our lives to the fullest.
So listen to Rihanna and just live your life.
